Privacy Policy
The short version
- We collect what it takes to place your prank call — nothing more. Your verified number, the number you dial, and the technical basics that keep the app running.
- Your number stays yours. The person you prank never sees your phone number — calls come from the AI's own number.
- We never sell your personal information.
- Recording is your choice and your responsibility. It's optional, encrypted, and gated behind an explicit acknowledgment — getting the legally required permission from everyone on the call is on you.
- You're in control. Access, correct, or delete your data any time at privacy@prankcall.ai.
1Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains what information Personance Inc. ("Personance," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares when you use the PrankCall.AI mobile application and the prankcall.ai website (together, the "Service"). It applies together with our Terms of Service.
The Service is offered only in the United States and is intended for adults 18 and older. By using the Service you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2Information we collect
Information you provide
- Your phone number. Before your first call we verify a mobile number that belongs to you. This is how we prevent abuse and keep the Service safe.
- Profile details you choose. A display name, handle, and avatar, if you add them.
- The numbers you dial. The phone number of the person you prank, entered by you, plus any name you attach to it for your own history.
- Personalization details. The optional answers you give to tailor a call (for example, details about the person or the scenario).
- Content you create or share. Recordings and videos you choose to make, posts to the community feed, reactions, and follows.
- Communications. Messages you send to support, reports you file, and ideas you suggest.
Information collected automatically
- Device and log data. Device model, operating system, unique device and advertising identifiers, IP address, approximate location derived from IP (we do not collect precise GPS), and usage logs (features used, times, and call metadata such as date, duration, and outcome).
- Diagnostics. Crash reports and performance data that help us keep the app stable.
Information from third parties
- App stores. Apple or Google tells us about your subscription status and purchases so we can unlock paid plans. We never receive or store your card details — payments are handled entirely by the app stores.
- Rewarded offers. If you earn extra free calls through optional offers shown in the app, the partner fulfilling the offer confirms completion to us.
3Call data & AI processing
Placing a prank call necessarily involves processing call audio. Here is exactly what happens:
- To place your call, we dial the recipient, and our AI generates and speaks the conversation in real time based on the scenario you chose. The audio of the call is processed as it happens so the AI can respond and so you can listen in live.
- When the call ends, we send the recipient the reveal text telling them it was a prank.
- If you enabled recording, the call audio is stored encrypted and used to generate your video. Your Recording is visible only to you until you choose to share it.
Call audio is processed to provide and improve the Service — including the live call experience, recording and video features, call quality, and our safety features (such as detecting distress during a call). Limited human review of call content may occur only for safety and abuse investigations, quality checks, where you ask us to, or where the law requires it.
4How we use your information
- Provide the Service: place the calls you start, deliver the reveal text, power the live listening experience, generate recordings and videos, and run the feed and your profile.
- Safety and integrity: verify users, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce call limits and the block list, power our emotion-aware safety features, and investigate reports.
- Manage your plan: administer the free daily allowance and any subscription, including renewals through the app stores.
- Improve the Service: measure call quality, analyze usage, fix bugs, and develop features.
- Communicate with you: respond to support requests, send service and safety notices, and — only where permitted and until you opt out — send news about the Service.
- Meet legal obligations: comply with applicable laws, respond to lawful requests, and enforce our Terms of Service.
5How we share information
We never sell your personal information, and we never rent it out. We share information only in the following situations:
- Service providers. Companies that help us run the Service under contract — telephony and SMS delivery, cloud hosting, subscription billing infrastructure, analytics, and video processing. They may use the data only to do work for us.
- Other users, when you share. If you post a video to the feed, other users can see the video, your handle, and your reactions. What you share publicly is your choice.
- Call recipients. The person you prank receives the call and the reveal text. We process their number to deliver the call — we never share your number with them, and we never market to recipients.
- Legal authorities. When required by law, subpoena, or court order, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect someone's safety, prevent abuse or fraud, or enforce our Terms.
- Business transfers. If Personance is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user information may transfer as part of that deal, with notice.
- With your consent. Any other sharing happens only with your direction or consent.
6Recordings — your control, your responsibility
Recording a call is optional and always your decision. When you enable it, the app shows you a consent acknowledgment that cannot be skipped and is never pre-checked. Recordings are stored encrypted, and you can delete them at any time.
The full legal terms for recordings are in Section 6 of our Terms of Service.
7Information about call recipients
When you prank someone, we process their phone number and the call itself strictly to place the call, run the AI conversation, and deliver the reveal text. Recipients are never marketed to and never shown your number. If someone does not want to receive calls from the Service, they can add their number to our block list at prankcall.ai/block-my-number at any time, or contact us at privacy@prankcall.ai to ask for deletion.
8Cookies & similar technologies
On the website, we use strictly necessary storage to keep the site working and privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate usage (pages visited, approximate region, device type). We do not use third-party advertising cookies on the website. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings; the site remains usable without them.
In the app, we use your device and advertising identifiers for fraud prevention, restoring your purchases, and — only if you choose to use them — the optional rewarded offers that earn extra calls. You can limit ad tracking or opt out of ad personalization in your device settings at any time; deleting the app removes its local data.
Where required by applicable state law, we honor Global Privacy Control signals.
9Data retention
We keep your information while you actively use the Service, and afterwards only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, to meet legal and tax obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our Terms. In particular:
- Recordings and generated videos tied to an account that has been inactive for six (6) months may be deleted;
- call logs and technical diagnostics are kept for shorter periods, then deleted or aggregated;
- if you request deletion, we delete or de-identify your personal information unless the law requires us to keep something (for example, transaction records for tax purposes).
10Security
We protect your information with encryption in transit and at rest (including all call recordings), access controls, and least-privilege access for our team. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, though — if you believe you've found a security problem, tell us at privacy@prankcall.ai.
11Children
The Service is intended exclusively for adults 18 and older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at privacy@prankcall.ai and we will delete it.
12Your privacy rights & choices
Depending on the state where you live — including under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) and the comprehensive privacy laws of Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and other states — you may have the right to:
- Know and access the personal information we hold about you;
- Correct inaccurate personal information;
- Delete your personal information;
- Portability — receive a copy of certain data you gave us in a usable format;
- Opt out of the sale of your personal information or targeted advertising — note that we do not sell personal information and do not engage in cross-context targeted advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of today;
- Non-discrimination — never be treated differently for exercising your rights.
To exercise any right, email privacy@prankcall.ai. To protect your data we may need to verify your identity — typically by matching the phone number you verified in the app. Where your state allows it, you may designate an authorized agent to act for you. If we decline a request we will explain why, and you may appeal by replying to our decision notice.
California Shine the Light: we do not disclose personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes.
13United States service
The Service is offered only in the United States, and your information is stored and processed in the U.S. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., you do so at your own initiative and consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the U.S.
14Sensitive information
Please do not provide sensitive personal information (such as health data, government IDs, or financial account credentials) through the Service, in calls, or in support messages — we do not ask for it and do not want to collect it.
15Third-party links & integrations
The Service integrates with the Apple App Store and Google Play, and may link to third-party websites. Those services are governed by their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to read them. We are not responsible for the practices of third parties.
16Changes to this policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and give you notice in the app or on the website before the changes take effect, where required. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.
